Army Staff Sergeant Scott S. Wilson

33, of Kingswood, TX; died as a result of service to our country. 


Scott was born in Lawrence, MA and raised in North Andover, MA and Salem, NH. He was a 1999 graduate of Salem High School. Scott was married and had two children, a son Connor and a daughter Taylor.

Scott was an active member of the United States Army and had served for 16 years.  He served as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, and deployed to Afghanistan for seven months. He then served at Ft. Hood, Texas, and deployed three times to Iraq, for 30 months total, as an Infantry Team Leader. In 2011, Scott was assigned to Ft. Stewart, Ga., as part of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 3d Infantry Division, serving as a Team Leader and Squad Leader.


His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal with Three Knots, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with three Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon 2, Army Service Medal Overseas Service Ribbon (two awards), Multi-national Force and Observers Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.

Scott is survived by his wife Gena Wilson, son, Connor S. Wilson, daughter, Taylor Wilson, mother, Ruth B. Wilson, father, Scott W. Wilson, brother Allen Wilson and his extended family.
