Chipper graduated from Keene High School in 2006. He served in Iraq as a motor transport operator. Chipper suffered a combat-related ear injury in Iraq. He was transferred to Landstuhl Medical Hospital, Germany where he was treated for his injuries. Chipper was found unresponsive in his barracks the morning after his 21st birthday, when he failed to report to formation. The Army ruled his death an accident; Chipper's cause of death may have been caused by sudden cardiac arrest.
